Borussia Monchengladbach central midfielder Florian Neuhaus has admitted that he and his teammates cannot wait to take on Inter in the Champions League.

The Bundesliga club have been drawn in group B alongside Inter and will face the Nerazzurri for the first of two times next week, with the first leg to be played at San Siro. The return leg at Borussia Park is scheduled to take place on the penultimate matchday of the group stages  on December 1.

“It can already be said that we have achieved a lot with a group that will have interesting opponents. However, we shouldn’t be afraid,” Neuhaus explained in an interview with Borussia Monchengladbach’s official club website ahead of the clash.

“I think it is certainly possible to achieve something good in the group and we are looking forward to starting the Champions League with the away match.

“What do I expect from Inter? We saw them in the Europa League. Inter are a great team with excellent players in terms of individuality but we want to compete with the best and we can’t wait for the game to come.”

The highly rated 23-year-old, who made his German national team debut in the past few months, has been ever present in Marco Rose’s side this term with him having appeared in all four of their games and been on the pitch for all barring five minutes of their season thus far.
