Former Italian national team manager Cesare Prandelli has shared his belief that Atalanta and Inter are the two clubs best placed to go on and raise the Serie A title come the end of this season.

Atalanta are currently leading the way in Italy’s top flight with them having made the perfect start picking up nine points from the nine available to them.

Inter are meanwhile sitting in fourth place with seven points to their name after having won two and drawn the other of their opening three fixtures of the 2020/21 season.

“Do I believe in Atalanta’s ability to win the Scudetto? Yes. I would bet with my heart. At the moment, Inter and Atalanta have something more than the others,” he explained in an interview with Italian radio station TMW Radio late yesterday night.

“Atalanta has been working like this for years and the boys know what they want to do. They are not only physically strong, but also tactically and mentally strong.

“Inter have had an important season and have reconfirmed not only Conte but their desire to reach the top. They signed reliable players to fight for the title.”

Prandelli, who last managed Genoa during the 2018/19 season, also shared his opinion on Napoli: “It is excellent for Gattuso to have kept Koulibaly, the group has almost always been the same for years and they are good.”

The 63-year-old also gave his opinion on former Inter midfielder and newly appointed Juventus manager Andrea Pirlo, who is in his first managerial role which comes following an illustrious playing career.

“Pirlo? He is an absolute guarantee in terms of leadership and management of the top players, he has innovative ideas but we can only judge him in a few months time.”
