Inter striker Lautaro Martinez has admitted that he and his Argentine national team teammates are very happy with their 2-1 win away to Bolivia last night.

Argentine fell behind 24 minutes into the game as Marcelo Moreno gave Bolivia the lead but Lionel Scaloni’s Albiceleste side went into the half time interval level thanks to Lautaro scoring on the stroke of half time. Joaquin Correa scored what proved to be the winner for Argentine in the 79th minute.

Argentina have made the perfect start to their 2022 World Cup qualifying campaign having won both of their games to date.

“It is possible to win at a high altitude, of course. We had thought about what this match meant to us because of everything that had happened in previous years,” the highly rated 23-year-old explained to the Argentine national team’s official website.

“It’s difficult to play here, it changes a lot with respect to playing on the plain, but this young, new team, which also has experienced players like Leo and Nico, all gave their best for each other.

“A lot of things were said, but we are focused on winning and leaving Argentina at the top. We knew it was going to be a difficult game, we trying not to drown. This team showed a lot of heart and mind not to leave the rival comfortable, who knows how to play very well on their court. We are happy.”

This season Lautaro, who joined Inter back in the Summer of 2018 from Racing Club, has made three appearances across all competitions to date. During his time on the park he has scored a total of three goals and has also provided a single assist.
