Milan Health Authority Monitoring Inter & AC Milan Situations Ahead Of This Weekend’s Milan Derby

The local Milan health authority, ATS are keeping an eye on the respective situations of Inter and AC Milan ahead of this weekend’s Derby della Madonnina according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

Inter currently have six players who are COVID-19 positive whilst AC Milan have two COVID-19 positive players and a first team coach.

The report insists that the Milan ATS will not oppose the Milan derby being contested should the protocol in place be complied with.

Alessandro Bastoni is asymptomatic and will be tested tomorrow or Friday, as that will be 10 days since he tested positive. If he returns a negative result, he could make the bench for Inter.

Roberto Gagliardini and Radja Nainggolan will be tested on Monday or Tuesday whilst Milan Skriniar could soon return to Italy, perhaps on a private flight from Slovakia, he is awaiting authorisation from the Slovak authorities.

The report from the Rome based news outlet explains that Andrea Pinamonti, Achraf Hakimi and perhaps Marcelo Brozovic will be back at training today. The three South Americans, Lautaro Martinez, Alexis Sanchez and Arturo Vidal, are expected back tomorrow.

Due to players from national teams returning on different days, Conte faces the prospect of only having one training session with the entire squad before Saturday’s derby.
