Inter attacker Alexis Sanchez has stated that it was not his intention to criticise anyone with the recent comments he made.

In a recent interview, Sanchez called upon the Chilean football association to do more when it comes to the development of young players as he does not see any young players ready to make the step up into the national team, which is not getting any younger with some of the stars, including Sanchez himself and his Inter teammate Arturo Vidal both past 30-years-old now.

Sanchez took to social media platform Instagram in a bid to clear things up and he also shared his delight with how the Chilean national team have approached both of their 2022 World Cup qualifiers thus far.

The former Barcelona and Arsenal star posted: “First of all I would like to clarify that in no way did I want to criticise anyone.

“I just said that, in my opinion, the ANFP should work more on young people and smaller teams. I wish there was a new Pinto Duran. The goal is to always improve at the team level.

“As for the rest, I am very happy for the dedication and professionalism that each player has put into these first two qualifying matches for the World Cup and that’s just the beginning. Let’s go Chile.”

Sanchez joined Inter in the Summer of 2019 on loan from Manchester United and he completed a permanent switch to Inter after terminating his contract with the Premier League side. Since joining he has four goals and 12 assists in 35 appearances across all competitions to date.
