Inter striker Lautaro Martinez’s condition will be carefully evaluated by Inter’s medical staff ahead of this coming weekend’s Derby della Madonnina against AC Milan according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.
Lautaro played at more than 3000 metres above sea level in Argentina’s 2-1 World Cup qualifier win over Bolivia a few days ago and it is perfectly normal for a player to suffer from it afterwards.
There is a risk that Lautaro could find himself lacking strength and with limp legs. In any case, Alexis Sanchez will be able to be drafted in in his place if required to take on AC Milan at San Siro.
This season Lautaro, who joined Inter in 2018, has made three appearances across all competitions to date for Inter. In his time on the pitch, the highly rated 23-year-old has scored three goals and provided a single assist for his teammates.
