Inter’s medical staff are optimistic about Ivan Perisic’s chances of being available for the Milan derby against AC Milan on Saturday according to a report from the online edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Croatian national team player took a knock to his knee in last night’s UEFA Nations League A group 3 loss to reigning world champions France but despite this Inter’s medical staff are optimistic.

The report from the Milan based news outlet goes on to explain that Perisic has went from being incompatible for Antonio Conte’s 3-5-2 system last year, which led to him being loaned to Bayern Munich, but he has now become indispensable for the Nerazzurri side.

The non-arrival of Victor Moses and Ashley Young being ruled out due to COVID-19 has created a problem on the left flank and only Perisic can play there.

Whilst Danilo D’Ambrosio could play there if really needed, the versatile Italian will be needed to play at centre back due to Alessandro Bastoni and Milan Skriniar also being ruled out due to COVID-19.
