Even if Alexis Sanchez’s condition is evaluated and he is considered to be fine, he is unlikely to start in tomorrow evening’s Derby della Madonnina according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, which was broadcast a short time ago.
Chilean media reported late last night that the attacker had sustained a muscle injury whilst representing the Chilean national team and would miss the Milan derby and Inter’s Champions League group stage opener against Borussia Monchengladbach.
The player took to social media in recent days and stated that the injury sustained was nothing serious and his condition is to be assessed today by Inter’s medical staff.
The report explains that Inter’s strike force for the first Milan derby will more than likely consist of Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez.
Lukaku and Lautaro have formed a formidable partnership with one another and have got this season off to a flyer with the pair of them each scoring three goals in as many games.
