Former AC Milan and Italian national team goalkeeper Giovanni Galli has shared his belief that there is more pressure on Inter than there is on AC Milan ahead of tomorrow’s Derby della Madonnina between the two Milanese clubs.

“This AC Milan side has enthusiasm, youth, boldness and then the charisma and experience of Ibra, who alone changes history,” Galli explained in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport, which appeared in today’s print edition of the Milan based news outlet.

“The derby weighs more on the shoulders of the opponents, who on paper remain stronger. It is Inter who have been built to win immediately.

“If they lose, the trials will already begin, if AC Milan falls, that will not happen. After such a long run-up, there is a stumbling block.”

Galli, who also played for Fiorentina among many other clubs during a 19 year playing career, proceeded to discuss some players who he thinks could be key for AC Milan against Inter.

Inter versus AC Milan is scheduled to take place at San Siro tomorrow evening with kick off scheduled for 6pm local time.

“The surprise is Kjaer, he has entered into the system perfectly. He knows how to be a leader in terms of technique and experience. Bennacer is intelligent, he knows how to read pass trajectories, intercepts, runs and is linear.”

Galli spent four years with AC Milan between 1986 and 1990. Galli, who was part of Italy’s 1982 World Cup winning squad, made 147 appearances across all competitions for the Rossoneri, in which he kept 76 clean sheets and won a total of eight trophies.
