Former AC Milan and current Fiorentina midfielder Giacomo Bonaventura has shared his belief that this evening’s Derby della Madonnina between Inter and AC Milan will be a great match between the city rivals.

“The derby is fantastic, the ones I experienced, with the stadium full, I will never forget them,” Bonaventura, who left AC Milan in the Summer transfer window after six seasons, explained in an interview with the online edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

“It’s a unique emotion that stays with you forever. I’ll see this one on TV, unfortunately it won’t have the usual amount of fans, but it will be a great match.”

Inter, who will host the match at their shared home, come into the match trailing their Rossoneri rivals by two points in the Serie A standings at this early stage of the 2020/21 Serie A campaign.

Inter have won two and drawn the other of their opening matches this term whilst AC Milan have made the perfect start and are sitting top of the league table.

Whilst trailing in the league table, Inter are not trailing when it comes to recent success in the derby with them having won each of the last four and remaining unbeaten in the last eight.
