Inter midfielder Radja Nainggolan has announced that he has tested negative for Covid-19, according to a post on his Instagram story as reported by Italian media outlet FcInterNews.

The report details how the 32-year-old Belgian midfielder was forced to miss the derby against the Rossoneri after testing positive for the contagion last week.

The former Roma midfielder was one of six Nerazzurri players that tested positive for Covid-19, including Milan Skriniar, Alessandro Bastoni, Ionut Radu, Roberto Gagliardini and Ashley Young.

The 21-year-old Italian defender also announced that he has tested negative for the virus and will be hoping to return in time for the Nerazzurri’s Champions League opener against Borussia Monchengladbach.

Nainggolan also cheered on the team from home, with the caption “come on guys” alongside a picture of the Inter lineup.

Inter went on to lose the derby against the Rossoneri 2-1, with two early goals from Swedish veteran Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
