Inter lost the derby della Madonnina against AC Milan after some horrific defending throughout the match by Danilo D’Ambrosio as well as Aleksandar Kolarov.

This coupled with incredible wastefulness in attack gave the Rossoneri their long awaited derby win against the Nerazzurri.

Samir Handanovic – 5.5: Saved a penalty after a very long time but it was parried back into the path of Ibra. Couldn’t do much on the second goal. Moved the ball very well

Danilo D’Ambrosio – 5: Danilo usually plays in his limits but in this attacking formation his lack of pace was exposed by Leao throughout the game. Not his best Milan derby

Stefan De Vrij – 5.5: Tough to defend when you are surrounded by wingbacks and playing in a very high line against a motivated Ibrahimovic.Missing Bastoni and Skriniar

Aleksandar Kolarov – 4.5: Gave a needless penalty away with a poor tackle and struggled all game to keep up with pace and trickery. This experiment needs to end right now

Achraf Hakimi – 5.5: Achraf tried his best but it seemed he was focussed on doing everything himself. Made errors in passing and holding the ball which is not normal.

Marcelo Brozovic – 5: Another poor game by Marcelo. When he is off form this is the standard of performance Interisti usually get. Couldn’t get control of the ball at all

Arturo Vidal – 6: Brings the edge to the midfield and did a tremendous job considering he was still jetlagged.Needs to be careful of the Italian refs who are card happy

Nicolo Barella – 6: Ran for 90 mins and gave it his all. Unfortunately still doesn’t have the killer instinct in front of goal with shots or the final pass. Will only get better

Ivan Perisic – 5.5: Ivan didn’t have the best games both in attack and defence. econd to every ball, slow to think and poor decisions on passing and positioning all game

Romelu Lukaku – 6.5: The only Inter player who played superbly well in both halves. He was kicked, thrown to the ground and wrestled all game. Should have scored more

Lautaro Martinez – 6: Looked unstoppable in the first half and with a decent referee should have got Kjaer sent off. Ran out of steam in the second half. Deserved more

Christian Eriksen – 6: Eriksen, like many, was coming off a good international break. He looked confident and with and without the ball.A step forward in the right direction

Alexis Sanchez – N/A: Didn’t bring the impact he usually brings off the bench and was brought on more out of desperation as Vidal had run himself into the ground

Antonio Conte – 4.5: Surely knew that the defence he put out today will leak goals. Should have tried to change something in the first half. No subs to change the game.

Maurizio Mariani – 3: One of the worst refereeing performances Interisti will see this season. Both coaches didn’t like it and numerous fouls, cards missed. That VAR call…

Inter – 5.5 : This result can be either a massive blow to the confidence of the team or a huge motivator if taken in the right way. The players gave it their all.
