Borussia Monchengladbach goalkeeper Yann Sommer spoke about the club’s draw against Wolfsburg and their upcoming Champions League clash against Inter in an interview on their official site earlier today.

“The result is very annoying. We had a good match for long stretches. For us it was a good first half, Wolfsburg were better in the second half and were more dangerous than us.”

He commented on how the team are now looking ahead to their next game against the Nerazzurri on Wednesday next week.

“The start of the season did not go as we imagined, but thinking about it does not help. We’ll take this point, on Wednesday we play the first Champions League match against Inter.

“That’s why we don’t have much time to worry about this draw.”

Inter’s German opponents, Borussia Monchengladbach, are currently 10th in the Bundesliga after four games, sitting on five points.

They have only won one game so far this season, against 16th place FC Cologne earlier this month. The club finished fourth last season, two points ahead of fifth place Bayer Leverkusen.

Inter had started the season well, winning their first two games against Fiorentina and Benevento, before suffering a tough 1-1 draw with Lazio before the international break.

Antonio Conte’s squad will now have to bounce back after a painful 2-1 derby defeat to rivals AC Milan yesterday, especially considering the difficulty of their Champions League group.

Their other opponents are Shakhtar Donetsk and Real Madrid, so it could come down to a fight for second place between Inter and the German side.
