Inter ended two painful weeks in the worst possible way, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The report details how the Nerazzurri suffered a painful 2-1 derby defeat to rivals AC Milan yesterday, with 39-year-old Swedish veteran scoring a brace in the first half to secure the three points for the Rossoneri.

Inter were missing six players, who had all tested positive for Covid-19, limiting coach Antonio Conte’s choices, especially in defense.

The Nerazzurri already showed some defensive issues in the opening games of the season and these were only exacerbated by the lack of Milan Skriniar and Alessandro Bastoni in the squad.

Contrast to 12 months ago, Inter had won their first six games and had only conceded one goal.

Now, they have won twice in four games and are sitting on seven points, having already conceded eight goals.

Conte will now quickly need to find a suitable balance ahead of the Nerazzurri’s next game against German side Borussia Monchengladbach in the Champions League.
