Inter midfielder Nicolo Barella was one of the stronger Nerazzurri players in their 2-1 derby loss to AC Milan yesterday, according to a report from Italian media outlet PassioneInter earlier today.

The report details how Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport gave the 23-year-old Italian a 6.5 rating, highlighting his high work rate and ball winning ability. The player may be more suited to a deeper position, rather than a trequartista.

Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport also gave Barella a 6.5 rating, discussing his fantastic physical and athletic condition. The player did not stop running all game and worked hard until the final whistle.

Turin based newspaper Tuttosport agreed, also giving the 23-year-old Italian midfielder a 6.5 rating, commenting on his important pressing and ball recovery, whilst also noting that a few mistakes occurred near the end, when he was tired.

Finally, Barella received a 6.5 rating from PassioneInter, who noted that the former Cagliari man is a strong reference point for the team, although he succeeds better in a deeper position, rather than behind Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez.
