Italian journalist Fabio Ravezzani discussed Inter’s tough 2-1 derby loss to rivals AC Milan in a post on his Twitter page yesterday.

The Nerazzurri started the game well against the Rossoneri, but two early goals from 39-year-old Swedish veteran Zlatan Ibrahimovic proved costly.

Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku scored before half time to try and claw back something for Antonio Conte’s team, but further efforts were fruitless and AC Milan walked away with all three points.

Inter will now have to look ahead to their next game, their Champions League opener against German side Borussia Monchengladbach on Wednesday.

Their next league clash will be against Genoa next Saturday, a game in which Conte is hoping to have more of his squad available.

Six Nerazzurri players were unable to play in the derby after testing positive for Covid-19, including starting defenders Milan Skriniar and Alessandro Bastoni.

Ravezzani criticised the Nerazzurri for their performance, saying: “Inter doesn’t do well. The defense is too fragile with Kolarov in the back 3 who seems really at the end of his career. Very good Hakimi, bad Perisic.

“Brozovic doesn’t seem to be there anymore mentally. Vidal anonymous. Conte has to solve the defensive problems and he lost the tactical challenge with Pioli.”
