Inter central defender Alessandro Bastoni has confirmed that he has now returned a second negative test result for COVID-19.

Bastoni was the first player in Inter’s squad to contract the virus and having returned a negative test result over the past few days, he has now returned another negative test result.

As a result of this, the highly rated Italian youth national team central defender will be back at the disposal of Inter manager Antonio Conte for this coming Wednesday’s UEFA Champions League group stage opener against Borussia Monchengladbach at San Siro.

It is now up to Conte as to whether former Atalanta man Bastoni will play against the German side or if he will wait a few more days before playing him.

Bastoni missed one of Inter’s games due to Coronavirus, this past weekend’s Milan derby defeat to AC Milan, and has made two appearances across all competitions to date this term.

He took to his Instagram Story and posted: “Second test negative too.”
