Inter seem less shaky than the other Italian clubs ahead of their Champions League group stage openers according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

Inter were eliminated in the group stage for a second consecutive season last term but went on to come agonisingly close to winning the Europa League and this year the Nerazzurri wish to make it to the Champions League knockout stages.

The report from the Rome based news outlet goes on to explain that if Inter do not recover defenders, they risk making a bad start to their Champions League group, something they could do without if they want to make it past this stage of the competition.

After reaching last season’s Europa League final, the report goes on to conclude that Inter can only grow internationally by progressing in the Champions League.

Inter are in group B alongside Real Madrid, Borussia Monchengladbach and Shakhtar Donetsk. They start their Champions League campaign at home to Borussia Monchengladbach on Wednesday night.
