Inter striker Lautaro Martinez has spoken on what it is like to play in the UEFA Champions League ahead of Inter’s group stage opener against Bundesliga club Borussia Monchengladbach in the coming days.

The Nerazzurri are to play host to the German outfit at San Siro on Wednesday evening in group B action and Antonio Conte’s side will also face off against 13 time Champions League winners Real Madrid plus Ukrainian giants Shakhtar Donetsk over the course of the group stages.

“It is the competition where the best play, the one in which every slightest difference is very noticeable , that’s why I always say that in the Champions League you have to have the utmost attention, prepare yourself in the best world and stay focused for 90-95 minutes,” he explained in an interview with European football’s governing body UEFA, as quoted by Italian news outlet FCInterNews.it.

Lautaro, who has been with Inter since the Summer of 2018 following a move from Superliga Argentina side Racing Club, went on to add: “When a striker scores a goal he just wants his team to win and this is how it is for me.”

The highly rated 23-year-old, who is now into his third season at Inter, has started the season in fine form with him having scored three goals and provided a single assist in his first four appearances.
