Stefano Sensi could start for Inter in their Champions League opener with Borussia Monchengladbach on Wednesday night at San Siro according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Tuttosport.

The Italian national team central midfielder missed Inter’s last match, the Milan derby, due to being suspended but will be one of three players back at Conte’s disposal to take on the Germans with both Alessandro Bastoni and Radja Nainggolan to also be back after having recovered from COVID-19.

Sensi could start in the Inter midfield alongside Nicolo Barella and Arturo Vidal, provided they themselves have recovered. Barella took a knock to his knee in the derby whilst Vidal was absolutely exhausted and had to come off in the Milan derby as a result.

The report from the Turin based news outlet goes on to explain that Ivan Perisic may lose his place at left wing-back and could be replaced by either of Danilo D’Ambrosio or Matteo Darmian.
