Inter have drafted Daniele Padelli into their UEFA Champions League squad list ahead of tomorrow’s Champions League group stage opener at home to Borussia Monchengladbach according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The veteran shot-stopper was initially excluded from the squad list but due to back-up goalkeeper Ionut Andrei Radu having tested positive for COVID-19, Inter have swapped Padelli for him.

The report from the Milan based news outlet does not explain whether it will be possible for Inter to swap Radu back into the squad once he has recovered.

Padelli joined Inter on a free transfer in the Summer of 2017 and up until last season, he barely played whatsoever. However when Samir Handanovic went down with a hand injury, Padelli was called upon and played in six matches, in which he kept two clean sheets.

This season Padelli, who has been demoted to third choice goalkeeper, has not made any appearances.
