Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia journalist and transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio has shared his belief that Inter have a real advantage given all the options they have available to them in the attacking midfield position.
Thanks to the abundance of options at his disposal, Inter manager Antonio Conte has been able to play a variation of players in that role in the first four matches of the Serie A campaign with no one player having started in every game played thus far.
“It is an advantage to have so many players who can play as attacking midfielders all with different characteristics. Vidal, Eriksen and Sensi are more attacking. Nicolo Barella is complete, he can play anywhere,” he explained whilst present in the Sky Sport Italia studios earlier on this evening.
Di Marzio then addressed what has changed for Ivan Perisic compared to last year when he was shipped out on loan by Inter to Bayern Munich when he was judged as being outside of the club’s project alongside Mauro Icardi and Radja Nainggolan, the latter of whom is now back involved at Inter.
“Last year Perisic did well on the wing at Bayern Munich. After the year in Germany he returned with a different spirit and deserved to start games.”
