Borussia Monchengladbach attacker Marcus Thuram has revealed that it is a dream come true for him to be able to play against Inter and play at San Siro ahead of the Bundesliga club’s Champions League group stage opener against the Nerazzurri, which will take place tomorrow evening.

“For me it is a dream come true to play against a top club in the Champions League and in such a stadium,” Thuram explained to the gathered media at the pre-match press conference, which was held earlier on today.

He then dismissed the idea that the match will be a special one for him from a personal point of view seeing as he was actually born in Italy whilst his father, the legendary defender Lillian Thuram, played in the country.

“Even though I was born in Italy and lived there for nine years, for me tomorrow’s match cannot be considered either a special match or a ‘home’ match.

“A Champions League match is special. Inter have many great players in the squad, in every area of the pitch. We will try to make life difficult for them.”

23-year-old Thuram, who is a former France under 21 national team representative, has made five appearances across all competitions to date this term.

During his time on the park, which totals just under 300 minutes, he has scored one goal and provided a total of three assists for his teammates.
