Noted Italian football journalist Mario Sconcerti has shared his belief that there is currently too much pressure at Inter.

Inter recorded their first loss of the season this past weekend as they lost the first Derby della Madonnina 2-1 on Saturday evening against city rivals AC Milan.

The Nerazzurri are currently sitting in sixth place in the Serie A table after four games played with seven points to their name, five points less than league leaders AC Milan, who have made the perfect start to the 2020/21 campaign.

“I believe that a contract like the one Conte has binds him and the club, who are still paying for Spalletti’s salary. Additional purchases have been made but there is also a lot of focus on investments,” he explained in an interview with Italian radio station TMW Radio, yesterday afternoon.

Sconcerti also touched upon Inter’s central midfielders Christian Eriksen and Marcelo Brozovic, neither of whom have performed to expectations so far this season.

“In this Inter I don’t see lightness, because there is too much pressure. Just look at the role that Eriksen is playing, with Brozovic’s rather poor performance. In football you need experience and this Inter have already lost points in the last 2 games.”

Inter are next in action on Wednesday night against Borussia Monchengladbach in the Champions League group stage and then face 15th Genoa in Serie A on Saturday evening.
