Christian Eriksen and Alexis Sanchez will both start for Inter in this evening’s Champions League group stage opener at home to Borussia Monchengladbach according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset journalist Marco Barzaghi.

Eriksen will start in the attacking midfield role in Antonio Conte’s 3-4-1-2 system in behind Romelu Lukaku and Sanchez, who will be taking the place of Lautaro Martinez in the Nerazzurri’s starting line-up.

Eriksen and Sanchez will both be making make just their second starts of the 2020/21 campaign. Eriksen has made three appearances across all competitions this term but has failed to make any goal contributions. Sanchez has meanwhile made four appearances, in which he has provided two assists for his teammates.

Inter’s match with Borussia Monchengladbach is scheduled to kick off at 9pm local time at San Siro in Milan. Inter are in group B in this year’s edition of the Champions League which also contains Real Madrid and Shakhtar Donetsk.

Barzaghi took to Twitter and posted: “Not only Eriksen but also Sanchez instead of Lautaro for tonight.”
