Inter have held exploratory talks with the representatives of AC Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu according to a report from Italian news outlet CalcioMercato.com.

The 26-year-old Turkish national team player’s contract with the Rossoneri is due to expire at the end of this season and contract renewal talks have already started between the club and his representatives, who are looking for their client to be given a new deal worth €7 million a year.

The player feels fine in Milan and wants to stay with the Rossoneri but at the same time he wants his value to the team to be adequately recognised. The distance between what AC Milan are prepared to offer compared to what Calhanoglu and representatives want is wide.

Time is running out and there are several clubs prepared to take advantage of the situation. There is currently nothing concrete but Inter could well come forward for the former Hamburg player.
