Stefano Sensi is a doubt for this evening’s Champions League group stage opener with Borussia Monchengladbach at San Siro according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

Despite missing this past weekend’s Derby della Madonnina defeat to AC Milan due to suspension, Sensi is suffering from muscle fatigue in his thigh.

Sensi was forced to stop training on Monday due to feeling discomfort in one of his thighs. He underwent physiotherapy yesterday and his condition will be assessed today.

If he no longer feels pain, he will be named among the substitutes for the match at San Siro. If he does still feel pain though, a further investigation into his condition will be required.

This season the Italian national team player, who is contracted to the club until 2024, has made three appearances across all competitions to date although he has been unable to make any goal contributions.
