Inter are not one of the favourites to go all the way and win the Champions League this season according to a report in yesterday’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

Last season’s winners Bayern Munich, last season’s runners-up Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City are the three favourites and then just behind this trio of clubs there are Barcelona and Real Madrid, who are in the same groups as Juventus and Inter respectively.

The report from the Milan based news outlet goes on to explain that Juventus are no longer one of the top clubs as evidenced by their last three eliminations from the competition which have come at the hands of a worse opponent each year.

Inter are meanwhile less visionary but have a strong team than their Bianconeri arch rivals. Fresh from the Europa League final last term, the Nerazzurri club have strengthened.

Borussia Dortmund, Chelsea and Atletico Madrid are all seen as being at the same level as Inter and Juventus whilst Atalanta and RB Leipzig are both viewed as potential surprise teams.
