Achraf Hakimi will miss at least Inter’s next three games if his next COVID-19 test is positive according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

Prior to Inter’s Champions League group stage opener against Borussia Monchengladbach last night, UEFA communicated to Inter that Hakimi had returned a positive test result.

Inter re-tested Hakimi following his positive test result, the result of which will be known today. Inter are hopeful that the positive test was simply a false positive but if it comes back positive again, he will miss at least Inter’s next three games.

If this is the case, Inter manager Antonio Conte will have to do without the Moroccan national team wing-back for this weekend’s Serie A match with Genoa, Tuesday’s Champions League clash with Shakhtar Donetsk then the next Serie A game against Parma.

The report goes on to conclude that the hope is that he will be back available for the Champions League group stage match against Real Madrid on November 3.
