Inter were made to pay for defensive mistakes again in last night’s Champions League group stage opener with Borussia Monchengladbach according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.
Inter appear to have an extraordinary ability of hurting themselves and after failing in the first Derby della Madonnina of the season against AC Milan at the weekend, Inter complicated matters for themselves in the Champions League by recording a 2-2 draw against the German club.
Just like in the Milan derby, it was a new signing who was at fault for the goals. Whilst it was Aleksandar Kolarov in the 2-1 loss to the Rossoneri, it was Arturo Vidal who was at fault in the match against the Bundesliga outfit which was played at San Siro.
Inter are next in Champions League action on Tuesday night. Antonio Conte’s side are to take on Shakhtar Donetsk, who they beat 5-0 in last year’s semi final of the Europa League, away from home.
