Inter were once again made to pay for defensive mistakes in last night’s Champions League group stage opener against Borussia Monchengladbach according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
Inter were the only Italian club to not win their opening Champions League match and in order to win in this competition, you cannot afford to make mistakes but in last night’s match against Borussia Monchengladbach, Inter made two mistakes and paid a high price for them.
The report from the Milan based news outlet goes on to explain that Arturo Vidal in particular “betrayed” Inter manager Antonio Conte with his performance against the Bundesliga club.
The Chilean national team player, who joined Inter in the Summer transfer window from Barcelona, gave away the penalty which Gladbach scored their first goal from and was also partly at fault for their second goal in the 2-2 draw.
