The current emergency that Inter are facing is much more than an alibi but the Nerazzurri must now find the strength to go further according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

Inter have amassed a number of regrets at this early stage of the season from them conceding an average of two goals per game, failing to win their Champions League group stage opener against Borussia Monchengladbach, a match in which Alexis Sanchez picked up an injury in, among other things.

The only consolation at the moment is Romelu Lukaku, who scored Inter’s two goals in the 2-2 draw with Borussia Monchengladbach at San Siro last night.

The Belgian national team player has scored at least one goal in each of his last nine games in European competition and is two more games in a row with a goal away from matching Cristiano Ronaldo’s record of 11 games in a row in Europe with a goal.
