AC Milan are confident that they can agree a new contract with midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu according to a report from Italian news outlet FCInterNews.it.

Calhanoglu’s current contract with the Rossoneri is due to expire at the end of the current season and due to this his agent Gordon Stipic has already began offering him out to clubs across Europe, including AC Milan’s fellow Serie A clubs Inter, Juventus and Napoli.

Liverpool and Bayern Munich have also been offered the chance to sign the Turkish international and the report goes on to explain that of all the clubs mentioned, Napoli are the club who are most interested.

As things currently stand, Inter have no real desire to pursue Calhanoglu because they already have Christian Eriksen fulfilling the role that Calhanoglu would.

This said, the report goes on to conclude that Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta and sporting director Piero Ausilio have always liked acquiring quality players on a free transfer so an attempt for Calhanoglu cannot be entirely ruled out should AC Milan be unable to agree a new deal with him.
