The Inter team are being held hostage by Inter manager Antonio Conte according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.
As per this report, Inter player a different sort of football. The team are on the pitch thinking about what Conte wants from them and are always thinking of this, never thinking of doing something individually as each player has a task to respect.
Ivan Perisic is a good example of this. Last season he was shipped out on loan after he was not very respectful of the tasks entrusted to him nor the role of wing-back.
Even if he tries hard and even if he tries to adhere to Conte’s tactical line, he will always be an attacking winger although on Wednesday against Gladbach, when up against an attacking wing-back in Lainer, he showed himself more defensive than attacking.
The report from the Rome based news outlet goes on to explain that Christian Eriksen has failed to impose himself at Inter but this could be down to a fear of going against the tactical approach of the team.
