Former Argentine national team player Martin Palermo has shared his belief that Inter striker Lautaro Martinez is already at a good enough level to have the possibility of a guaranteed place in the Argentine national team.

Lautaro is currently into his third season with Inter and has went from strength to strength since his arrival from Superliga Argentina outfit Racing Club in the Summer of 2018.

The highly rated 23-year-old has seen himself linked with Barcelona among several other elite European clubs due to his performances for Inter, who he is under contract with until the end of the 2022/23 season.

“Lautaro is one of the best, he is in a moment of confidence and has potential which he already shown at Inter at a very high level,” Palermo, who scored nine goals in 15 national team appearances, explained in an interview with AS, as quoted by Italian news outlet PassioneInter.com.

The former Boca Juniors player went on to add: “He has a lot of room to learn and continue to mature, but he has already shown that he is at a level where he has the possibility of having a guaranteed place within the national team.”

Lautaro has made 89 appearances across all competitions to date for Inter, in which he has scored 33 goals and provided nine assists for his teammates. This season he has scored three goals in five games.
