Italian intermediarary Oscar Damiani has shared his disappointment at Spezia’s handling of on loan Inter midfielder Lucien Agoume.

The newly promoted Serie A side beat several sides to the signing of the highly rated young Frenchman but despite all the effort they made to get him to the club, Agoume is yet to have taken to the field in a Spezia shirt.

Agoume has been amongst the substitutes for Spezia in each of their four games to date this season and it remains to be seen when he will get his first opportunity to play.

“Unfortunately, he doesn’t have much space and he does not deserve to not play, because he is strong,” Damiani explained in an interview with Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.

“He will be able to take advantage of his opportunity. He must be judged in match situations and not in training.

“Agoume is among the strongest young players in Europe but in Italy the coaches don’t have the courage to let young people play. We are very disappointed, they went out of their way to get the boy and he is not playing.”

Damiani was then asked whether a new loan club may be sought in the fast approaching January transfer window given how things have went thus far for Agoume in Spezia.

“It is premature to say. Meanwhile, we are confident that he will have an opportunity.”

Agoume joined Inter in the Summer of 2019 from French club Sochaux and in his first season with the club the French youth international made three appearances at first team level.
