Inter have conceded 10 goals in their opening five games of the season for the first time since Gian Piero Gasperini was in charge of the club according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Tuttosport.

Gasperini had a four month spell in charge of Inter between June 2011 and September 2011 and his Inter conceded 10 goals in their first five games, not including the Europa League preliminary and play-off rounds.

Gasperini tried to get Inter to play a three at the back system and was far from successful in doing so whilst this year Inter manager Antonio Conte, who has almost always played with a back three since taking charge of Inter, is trying to give Inter a more international dimension to the moves of his team in a bid to get closer to the great sides in Europe.

What has happened with Inter this season has really showed how Inter lack N’Golo Kante, a player Conte strongly wanted in the Summer transfer window.

The report goes on to explain that it would not be surprised to see Roberto Gagliardini deployed in front of the defence to act as a screen due to his physical characteristics and he could be the man who rebalances this Inter team that is currently suffering too much, once he recovers from COVID-19.
