Inter are hoping that Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez will be available for Tuesday’s Champions League clash against Shakhtar Donetsk, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.

The report details how the 31-year-old Chilean forward underwent medical tests yesterday that showed a slight muscle injury to the right adductor, forcing him to miss today’s league clash against Genoa.

The Nerazzurri are hoping to have him available for Tuesday’s clash, but currently it seems difficult to imagine the former Arsenal star making the trip to Kiev.

Over the next few hours, the situation will become clearer, but hopes are high currently.

Sanchez, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2023, has started the season well under coach Antonio Conte, providing two assists in five appearances this season. He is an important part of the 51-year-old Italian coach’s attacking plan and will feature regularly this season.

Last campaign, Sanchez scored four goals and provided ten assists in 32 appearances.
