Inter forward Alexis Sanchez will be forced to miss today’s league clash against Genoa due to a small muscle injury, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The report details how the 31-year-old Chilean forward, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2023, will miss this evening’s game against the Rossoblu after tests yesterday revealed that he had a slight muscle injury on the right adductor.

The player will be tested day by day to check on his progress and estimate a potential return date. The Nerazzurri will be hoping that he will be fit in time for their Champions League clash against Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday next week.

Sanchez has appeared in all of Inter’s games so far this season, for a total of 165 minutes. In that time, he has provided two assists and been an important attacking threat for coach Antonio Conte.
