Bulgarian referee Georgi Kabakov will be in charge of Inter’s Champions League clash against Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday, according to an announcement made by Inter earlier today.

The report details how the 34-year-old Bulgarian will oversee Tuesday evening’s match. His assistants will be Martin Margaritov and Diyan Valkov, with the fourth referee being Volen Chinkov.

In the VAR Room there will be referee Felix Zwayer, with Marco Achmüller as his assistant.

Kabakov has overseen six games so far this season, between the Bulgarian top flight, the UEFA Nations League and the Champions League qualifying stages. He gave 34 yellow cards, one second yellow card and one penalty in that time.

Last season Kabakov only oversaw two Champions League games, where he gave nine yellow cards and one second yellow card.

Inter’s opponents on Tuesday, Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk, won their opening game in the competition against Real Madrid, winning away from home 3-2.
