Italian journalist Paolo Condò discussed Inter’s important 2-0 win over Genoa when speaking with Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia after the game.

“In my opinion Genoa’s defence gave a an amazing performance. Eriksen made three good passes in the first half, but it is very true that it was Barella who impacted the match.”

“However, I do not disapprove of Eriksen in this match, if Barella had replaced Brozovic he would have had more or less the same impact.”

The 28-year-old Danish midfielder, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2024, made his fifth appearance of the season under coach Antonio Conte, playing 58 minutes against the Rossoblu.

Eriksen, who has not played a full 90 minutes so far this season, complained to the media earlier this month about the lack of playing time he has received in Milan.

The player has struggled to adapt to coach Antonio Conte’s tactical system, not matching the intensity required by the 51-year-old Italian coach.

The former Spurs midfielder made 26 appearances last season across all competitions for the Nerazzurri, scoring four goals and providing three assists in that time.

Inter’s win puts them third in the league table, only two points behind first place AC Milan, who can extend their lead with a win over Roma tomorrow.
