A report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport has praised the performances of Inter striker Romelu Lukaku and midfielder Nicolo Barella in the Nerazzurri’s 2-0 win over Genoa yesterday.

The report details how the 23-year-old Italian midfielder, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2024, was brought on in place of Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen and quickly managed to assist Lukaku for the opening goal of the game.

Barella’s instant impact is yet another sign of how Eriksen is not fit for coach Antonio Conte’s style of football, the report continues.

Lukaku continued his dominant form and his goal finally broke the deadlock for the Milanese side, his seventh goal in six games across all competitions.

Conte still needs to find the right balance and clear plan, with the team often having empty possession or struggling to find openings without relying on the 27-year-old Belgian forward.
