Inter Striker Alexis Sanchez To Miss Tomorrow’s Champions League Match Against Shakhtar Donetsk Italian Media Report

Inter manager Antonio Conte will almost certainly have to do without Alexis Sanchez for tomorrow’s Champions League group stage encounter away to Shakhtar Donetsk according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Chilean national team player was forced off at half time of the Champions League group stage opener against Borussia Monchengladbach last Wednesday due to an injury to his right adductor muscle.

The 31-year-old missed Inter’s 2-0 away win over Genoa at the weekend and having still not recovered from his injury issue, he appears pretty much certain to miss the match against the Ukrainians, that will be played in Kyiv.

With Sanchez all but confirmed as absent, the report goes on to explain that Conte will therefore deploy Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez in the attack.

The report from the Milan based news outlet goes on to add that central midfielder Stefano Sensi also appears set to miss out.
