Inter striker Lautaro Martinez has insisted that he is happy to be at Inter and wishes to take the team as high as possible ahead of tomorrow evening’s Champions League group stage match away to Shakhtar Donetsk.

“I work every day with the aim of improving and winning, I’m happy at Inter,” he explained to the media as part of his pre-match press conference.

“I want to take Inter as high as possible, tomorrow I don’t know what happens. Today, however, I’m happy to be here, I wish to thank the fans for all the affection and also thank all of those who work at the club.”

The highly rated 23-year-old player then spoke on why he got angry following his substitution in Inter’s 2-0 win over Genoa this past weekend.

“I got angry with myself because I didn’t play the game I wanted to. When I came of, I was emotional, I am like that. It came from inside but today I am happy and ready for tomorrow.”

Lautaro joined Inter in the Summer of 2018 and is under contract with the club until the end of the 2022/23 season. He has since went on to make 90 appearances across all competitions for the club, in which he has scored 33 goals and provided nine assists for his teammates.

This season the Argentine has made six appearances and in 000 minutes on the field, he has scored three goals and provided a single assist for his Nerazzurri teammates
