Ashley Young is to start for Inter in this evening’s Champions League group stage encounter against Shakhtar Donetsk according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, which was aired a short time ago.

The experienced Englishman has missed Inter’s past few matches due to having COVID-19 but he has since recovered and will play for the first time since Inter’s 1-1 draw away to Lazio at the start of this month.

Young will take the place of Ivan Perisic at left wing-back to take on the Ukrainian giants at the Kyiv Olympic Stadium and he will not be the only change that Inter manager Antonio Conte will make for the match.

Stefan de Vrij, Achraf Hakimi and Nicolo Barella will all also return to the starting line-up in place of Andrea Ranocchia, Matteo Darmian and Christian Eriksen respectively.

Probable Inter starting line-up (3-4-1-2): Samir Handanovic; Danilo D’Ambrosio, Stefan de Vrij, Alessandro Bastoni; Achraf Hakimi, Marcelo Brozovic, Arturo Vidal, Ashley Young; Nicolo Barella; Romelu Lukaku, Lautaro Martinez.
