Inter manager Antonio Conte will heavily rely on striker Romelu Lukaku in tonight’s Champions League group stage match away to Shakhtar Donetsk according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

Having failed to win their Champions League group stage opener, Inter are not quite with their backs up against the wall yet but could find themselves in a very uncomfortable position should they fail to beat Shakhtar Donetsk, who surprisingly beat Real Madrid, later on today at the Kyiv Olympic stadium, something Conte wants to avoid.

In short Inter must win if they wish to keep control of their destiny as they look to progress to the second round of the competition.

Lukaku has started this season in stellar form with him having scored seven goals in six games across all competitions and he currently has a streak of nine games with at least one goal in European competition heading in to tonight’s clash against the Ukrainian powerhouses.
