Inter wing-back Ashley Young has revealed that he and his Inter teammates are disappointed to have not won in tonight’s Champions League group stage match away to Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk.

Antonio Conte’s side had no shortage of chances to take the lead in the Ukrainian capital but were unable to capitalise on any of these opportunities and had to settle for a goalless draw.

“We have not conceded anything, but given the great control of the game that we had, we are disappointed not to have brought home the three points.

“Now let’s think about the next one,” he explained in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia following the full time whistle at the Kyiv Olympic Stadium.

The experienced Englishman then spoke on Inter’s Champions League group as a whole which, in addition to themselves and tonight’s opponents, contains Real Madrid and Borussia Monchengladbach.

“The group is difficult, of course, it’s the Champions League. We have to score points in the next games and maybe today’s result will prove to be a good draw.”

The former Watford player was then asked about the upcoming Champions League group stage match away to group favourites Real Madrid: “The match in Madrid? It will be difficult, like all of them. We can score points.”

This season Young has made four appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has provided a single assist for his teammates.
