Inter central defender Stefan de Vrij has shared his belief that there is a great time spirit within this Inter side off the back of their Champions League group stage match against Shakhter Donetsk yesterday evening.

Inter went into the game as big favourites over the reigning Ukrainian Premier League champions and dominated them as they were expected to although the final result did not turn out as expected as Inter were forced to settle for a goalless draw against in the Ukrainian capital.

“There is a great spirit in this team, compared to the beginning there is more balance and communication and I think we are better,” he explained in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset, following the full time whistle at the Kyiv Olympic Stadium.

The Dutchman joined Inter on a free transfer in the Summer of 2018 following the expiration of his contract with fellow Serie A side Lazio at the end of the previous season.

The 28-year-old, who was named the best defender in Serie A for his performances last season, has made five appearances across all competitions to date this term.
