Last night’s match against Shakhtar Donetsk was a missed opportunity for Inter according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere della Sera.
Inter dominated the match in the Ukrainian capital but ultimately only came away from Kyiv with a single point having drawn 0-0 against the reigning Ukrainian Premier League Champions.
Inter were unable to convert any of their many goal scoring opportunities into goals, including some sensational opportunities, most notably at the start of the second half when Lautaro Martinez missed from just a few yards out.
The report from the Milan based news outlet goes on to add that Inter’s defence was solid as they kept a second consecutive clean sheet across all competitions and they also displayed the right mentality in the match.
Inter displayed an aggressive mentality for about an hour of the match but then individual mistakes started to occur and Inter really needed the midfield to provide a change of pace.
