Inter defender Milan Skriniar hopes to be able to make a return to action in next week’s Champions League group stage match away to Real Madrid according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Tuttosport.

The Slovakian national team centre back is due to return to Italy today after quarantining in his homeland for several weeks due to COVID-19 and upon his return, he will be subjected to another swab test which will determine whether he is still positive for COVID-19 or if he has recovered and is negative.

If he tests negative, he will be able to return to training alongside his teammates and rather than focus on this weekend’s Serie A match away to Parma, he will focus on next week’s Champions League group stage encounter with Real Madrid, who, like Inter, have not started the group stage as expected.

The report from the Turin based news outlet goes on to explain that Ionut Andrei Radu and Roberto Gagliardini will re-join teammates in group training today following their recoveries from COVID-19 and will try to make it onto the bench for Saturday’s match.
